Montpelier Wine Festival
Book the Whole Barrel!
Time to plan that special weekend for the Annual Montpelier Wine Festival. Once again Greenock House is putting together a celebration weekend. The difference this time is you can choose which parts you will be here to enjoy.
If you arrive Friday, May 6th, you'll have time to settle in while we prepare for a wine, cheese & chocolate tasting at 7:30. If you will be stuck driving down in traffic and are afraid you'll be too late to dine out, just order our welcome picnic for this weekend. It will include homemade dinner roll biscuits with applebutter, California chicken and grape salad, and wedges of Will's panini sandwich (pita layered with ham, provolone, tomato and onion with balsamic dressing.) It will be ready for you when you arrive, choose to eat immediatly or save it for a midnight meal after the tasting.
For Saturday morning breakfast at 9:30, there will be coffee, juice, and Dria's wonderful breads waiting in the dining room, help yourselves! The hot entrée will be served at table. Once you are satisfied, you can head off for your day at the Festival which starts at 11:00.
The Wine Festival
We will be happy to have your tickets waiting here if you order them through us. The most popular part of our wine weekend is the picnic to take along to the festival. It is full of plenty of good homemade bread and cookies, fresh fruit, cheese and other special treats, along with a centerpiece of mufalletta sandwiches.
Saturday night, after the festival, we'll provide our special Bistro Dinner for the two of you to enjoy uninterupted. In honor of the Wine Festival, we will include Prince Michel's Chardonnay or Cabernet Franc. We serve you the whole meal including the dessert and leave you to enjoy it all at your own pace. We will be back to clear around 9pm so you can enjoy the house to just relax the night away.
Sunday morning breakfast will be served at 9am to fortify you for your drive home. You will enjoy juices, a variety of fruits, assorted breads, Red Pepper Strata with caramelized onion and goat gouda. Also, baked ham with homemade applebutter, Bulgarian potato cubes and baked pineapple with coconut will be available too. As a special treat for our guests this weekend, we will send a loaf of one of our own signature breads home with you to accompany that second outstanding bottle of wine you just couldn't pass up at the Montpelier Wine Festival 2011.
As you can see, we believe food and wine go together. We hope to show you some new ways to enjoy them together.
